The outreach team from the January DTS has really enjoyedromania the time we have spent in Romania so far. The people have been very warm and easy to approach. We have been very fortunate to be staying at the YWAM Medias base where we have been touched by their hospitality and their welcoming atmosphere.

Much of our outreach in Romania has challenged us to step outside of our comfort zones and to grow in our different giftings. From working with the Roma or the mentally disabled, to doing street evangelism- we have had many different opportunities to experience different ministries.

We have done school visits where we get to incorporate biblical values into children’s lives who otherwise wouldn’t have a chance to hear it. We have gotten to build relationships and spend time with Roma children as well as help out in various youth groups and after school tutoring programs.

Hadja, another member of the team, also mentioned that working with the children, particularly the outreaches with the roma, have been her favorite part of outreach. “Outreach reminds me of Derby. We have so many opportunities to do ministry and I’m really enjoying it”.

We are looking forward to remainder of our time here and continue to welcome this new learning curve.
