The Chronological Biblical Core Course (BCC) will take you through the entire Bible in three months. You will go deeper into Scripture, as you learn to study it for yourself. You will encounter God in his Word and learn to interpret and apply what He says through it. You will gain an understanding of the big picture of the Bible, as well as glean how to learn from the details, cultural implications and historical context.
This course is committed to helping trainees process, apply and share what they are learning. By the end of this course, our hope is that you will be a life-long student of the Bible and a passionate steward of God’s word to the world!
COURSE CONTENT
DURING THE BCC YOU WILL:
- Read the entire Bible
- Study one book in depth from each type of Biblical literature.
- Learn an inductive Bible study method
- Understand how to use historical and literary contexts to accurately interpret Scripture
- Learn how to make personal and practical life-changing applications.
- Learn to teach and preach; and to lead others in the study of and learning from God’s word
- Focus on God and be transformed by Him and His Word.
You will graduate this school equipped with the tools you need to continue to study and apply God’s word in both personal and ministry contexts. This school will strengthen your relationship with God and your ability to minister to others in theirs. You will reap the rewards of this time for the rest of your life!
YWAM Harpenden has a beautiful campus, with wooded area and large open green spaces. We have our own local café, as well as being a short train trip from London.

New Zealand
Catherine is from New Zealand, but now lives in England with her family. She has been involved in missions in various locations for over 10 years. She completed her SBS in 2005-2006 where she discovered how to open up the Scriptures with more understanding and better application. Since then, she has had a passion to see others also know how to read and study their Bibles in a life-transforming way. Catherine believes that knowing how to study, teach, and to lead others in these things is a skill that every missionary needs and can learn.
