Month two of April DTS has seen mud, sweat and tears. Literally. Big Church Day Out 2And our Big Church Day Out excursion late last month certainly delivered the first two.

It was a weekend of drenching rain and sweltering sun at Sussex’s Wiston Estate. Our presence at England’s largest music festival was in a volunteer capacity, our primary mission being to manage the childrens’ inflatables. But we also had plenty of spare time to squelch around the rolling green hills, and enjoy the musicians on show, such as Third Day and Matt Maher.

Big Church Day Out 1Karen from the USA said, “I loved the atmosphere, all the different musicians… the people who came, and the marketplace where Christian music and books were sold. I was really touched by all the different missions that were present.”

As for the inflatable work, she added that “It was actually really fun to get to watch over all the kids and interact with them. And I even got to be a sumo wrestler with a kid because they had no partner… they beat me.”

The Big Church Day Out was definitely a highlight of another busy month.
