Meet Amanda C.! Amanda is the registrar and is one of the first people you will come into contact with if you apply for a DTS or other training opportunities here at YWAM Harpenden.
When & why did you decide to join YWAM?
I have known I wanted to be a missionary from a young age. I completed my DTS in 1995 at Holmsted Manor. I moved to Brazil in 1997. I worked with children in various locations in Brazil for 4 years.
What is your role on the base?
I am the Registrar, which means that all student inquiries, visa issues and background checks go through me. I have been in this position since 2009.
What ministry/project are you currently working on?
Outside of the registrar, I am sometimes a children’s bereavement counselor and work one one one with children.
What are you passionate about?
It has changed over the years. Currently, administration and resourcing people. By resourcing people, I mean helping to encourage and promote people into new roles for God. I am also passionate about helping children who are struggling emotionally, and their parents.
Are there areas that you are looking to work on in the future (vision)?
I do not see much changing at the moment.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy hanging out with my two children, studying for my psychology degree, and baking.
What do you love about living on the Oval?
I love the friendships, I like that my children have an amazing and safe place to play, and I think the Oval is beautiful.
