Meet Ashley! She is a fun loving person who enjoys making people feel at home here at YWAM Harpenden.
• When & why did you decide to join YWAM?
I was working with at risk youth before doing my DTS in 2008 at YWAM Harpenden. After the school finished, I felt like God was asking me to stay immediately after and I have enjoyed working here ever since.
• What is your role on the base?
Currently, I am managing the hospitality house on the base and working a bit in the communications department.
• What ministry/project are you currently working on?
I am working on refurbishing the hospitality house and welcoming guests. My heart is to make the house as welcoming, cozy and comfortable of a place as possible to receive guests and treat them exceptionally well.
• What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about staff care and development. I love discipleship and taking care of people pastorally. Another passion of mine is dance and the freedom and joy that it brings. Overall, I want to see the restoration in nations and in people.
• Are there areas that you are looking to work on in the future (vision)?
I hope to expand hospitality to be a blessing to incoming and existing staff, sharing the heart of hospitality and discipling others more in this area. Also, I would love to explore more of dance and creative worship personally and with others.
• What do you love about living on the Highfield Oval?
People everywhere! Extrovert heaven 🙂 and my commute to work is under 2 minutes. I
also love that we live within a gorgeous green space and woods.
• What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to watch the TV, read newspapers, hang out with people and laugh. As well as dancing and going on adventures: big and small.
